If you were planning a campus event or social activity, how might fragrance or scent customization fit into it?

If I were planning a campus event, I think a fragrance or scent customization station would be such a fun and interactive addition. For example, during a welcome week event, girls’ night, or self-care themed pop-up, students could create their own mini scent blends that match their personality or mood.

It would work really well as a social activity because people naturally bond over things like “What notes did you pick?” or “This smells so you.” It gives everyone something hands-on to do instead of just standing around. You could even theme it — like “main character energy,” “study era,” or “date night vibes” — and let people build scents around that. It makes the event feel more personalized and memorable, and everyone leaves with something they created themselves.

Why do you think customizable fragrance experiences resonate with Gen Z consumers?

I think customizable fragrance experiences really resonate with Gen Z because we care a lot about individuality and self-expression. We don’t just want to buy something everyone else has we want things that feel personal and unique to us. Being able to choose scent notes or create something custom makes it feel more meaningful.

Gen Z also loves experiences, not just products. So the process of creating a fragrance testing scents, learning about notes, and building something that reflects your personality is just as exciting as the final bottle. It also feels more intentional. Instead of following trends, we get to create something that matches our vibe, mood, or even different phases of life, which makes it feel more authentic and special.

How would you share your fragrance experience authentically with your audience?

I would share my fragrance experience in a really natural and relatable way, like I normally talk to my audience. I’d explain why I chose certain scent notes, what they remind me of, and how the fragrance makes me feel throughout the day.

I’d probably show parts of the process too like testing scents or creating it so people can see the experience, not just the final product. Then I’d share how I actually wear it in my everyday life, whether that’s going to class, studying, or going out with friends. I’d keep it honest and simple, focusing on my real reactions and why I genuinely like it, so it doesn’t feel like an ad but more like a recommendation from a friend.
