How do you hook viewers in the first 3 seconds of a retail video?

My hook is usually one of three things. It’s either a very strong on-screen text caption (ex: if you like ___ you’ll love what i found grocery shopping today) that draws the viewer in, or very quick shots of the whole video that turn into a 2 second “preview”, or I use sound as a hook, where I will incorporate ASMR sounds (like pushing the cart and getting out of the car) that keep the viewer watching.

How would you create engaging retail content ?

I would show myself going grocery shopping and grabbing candy plus another healthy snack. Then I would show myself finding Skinny Dipped and replacing both the candy and the healthy snack in my cart for two bags of Skinny Dipped, showcasing that this product can replace your sweet cravings while also being a healthy choice. After exiting the grocery store, I would include a clip of me trying the Skinny Dipped and confirm that yes this was the right choice so glad I found these. I believe this is true organic, engaging retail content that would resonate with your target audience!
