If I were faced with low engagement at an event, I’d quickly pivot by increasing interaction and creating a sense of urgency or excitement. First, I’d approach attendees personally to ask for feedback and encourage participation by offering small incentives, like a free sample or a discount for engaging. I’d introduce a fun, easy-to-participate activity—like a live challenge or giveaway with instant rewards—that encourages attendees to get involved. Additionally, I’d boost the event’s visibility on social media with live updates, behind-the-scenes content, and a real-time countdown to special offers or surprises, creating a sense of FOMO (fear of missing out). Lastly, I’d enlist influencers or people with a following to post about the event, encouraging their audience to join in. This combination of personal engagement, social media promotion, and instant rewards would help turn the event around and drive momentum.

How would you creatively promote JOVA on your campus? Share an idea for a sampling event or social campaign.

For the social campaign, I’d create a series of Instagram and TikTok reels featuring students sharing why they love JOVA in short, fun clips. To engage the wider campus, I’d partner with local influencers or student organizations to host mini pop-up samplings or product giveaways, creating buzz and incentivizing sharing. To creatively promote JOVA on campus, I’d host a “JOVA Chill & Chat” event where students can drop by to sample products, hang out, and learn about the brand in a relaxed setting. The event could take place at a popular campus spot like a quad or café, with comfy seating, branded swag, and product samples available. I’d set up a social media challenge encouraging attendees to post photos of themselves enjoying JOVA products with a specific hashtag, like #JOVAChillVibes. The most creative post could win a prize, like a JOVA bundle or a gift card.

How comfortable are you with approaching people to promote a product? Can you share an example of when you successfully convinced someone to try or buy something?

I’m quite comfortable with approaching people to promote a product, as I believe in building genuine connections and sharing value. One example is when I convinced a friend to try a skincare brand I was working with. I shared my personal experience with the product, highlighting how it helped with my skin concerns and showing before-and-after results. I also emphasized the brand’s transparency and commitment to quality, which aligned with their values. After a casual conversation and addressing their concerns, they were excited to try the product—and ended up loving it! This approach worked because it was authentic and tailored to their specific needs.
