tell us about your previous customer service and/or executive assistant experiences
Though I don't have executive assistant experience, my seven years in customer service at a major Texas grocery store equipped me with valuable transferable skills, particularly in managing complex interactions and understanding operational logistics. I began my career on the front end of a high-volume grocery store, where I directly engaged with hundreds of customers daily. Initially, my task was to ensure customer satisfaction through clear communication and attentive service. As I advanced into roles like bookkeeping and more technical customer service, my responsibilities grew to include resolving intricate issues and understanding the financial aspects of customer transactions. I proactively sought opportunities to expand my skill set, which led to my progression into more technical roles. In these roles, I applied my strong problem-solving abilities to address customer grievances and complex financial inquiries. My ability to manage situations, often under pressure, ensured a positive resolution for the customer and maintained the store's operational flow. I also gained insights into the monetary logistics of running a large retail operation. This seven-year tenure not only cultivated a robust understanding of customer service best practices but also provided me with a strong foundation in logistical and financial aspects of business operations. I became adept at managing diverse customer needs and navigating complex scenarios to achieve positive outcomes, which I believe are crucial for an executive support role.
