Happy Wax’s Instagram feed is vibrant, playful, and visually appealing. I love the bold use of colour and the strong branding around the gummy bear wax melts. One suggestion I have is to consider updating the highlight covers. Currently, all the covers look the same, which can make it harder for viewers to quickly identify categories. Pairing each highlight with a unique cover image that visually matches its title would make navigation easier and help key information stand out more clearly. Additionally, with such a large and engaged following of over 60K, incorporating more customer-focused content like reviews, user-generated photos, or quick testimonials could build even more trust and community engagement. It would be a great way to spotlight real experiences while adding authenticity to the feed.

Which 2 companies do you think are doing a great job engaging their audience?

  • Duolingo is well known for its humour and memes, especially on TikTok. Their content is fun, self-aware, and often goes viral because it engages into internet culture while still promoting their language-learning app. They’ve built a strong personality around their brand and the Duolingo character itself, which makes them super relatable and engaging.

  • Slack is another standout, which they are always active and responsive across platforms. What I really admire is how they listen to their audience and share user feedback with their technical team to improve the product. This not only builds trust but also shows they genuinely value their users’ voices in shaping their tools.

How do you stay updated with the latest trends in social media marketing?

I stay updated with the latest trends in social media marketing primarily through TikTok and Instagram, which are great platforms for spotting what’s currently popular. If I come across a trend or audio I like, I usually save it for future inspiration or sometimes recreate it myself and keep it in my drafts to experiment with different styles or timing. I also follow a few industry creators and social media strategists to understand not just what’s trending, but why it’s working. Occasionally, I explore tools like Later, TrendTok, or Hootsuite’s trend reports to track viral content and emerging hashtags. This helps me stay creative and ensures that my content aligns with what’s relevant, engaging, and timely.
