What's a way an IG account can get more followers?

To grow a brand’s IG account it’s important to focus on community building and engagement.A few strategies include: Engaging with other brands with similar target audiences: by following, commenting, and supporting other brands. This helps to build relationships and increase visibility within your niche. Create collaborations and giveaways with aligned brands and influencers. These digital activations help encourage curious users to follow your account as part of the entry requirement, while also rewarding loyal fans.Partnering with micro-influencers and content creators. Sending PR packages or sponsoring posts help build credibility. Consistently creating scroll-stopping content using a mix of educational, lifestyle, and user-generated content that resonates with the target audience.

Can you provide an example of a successful marketing campaign you have analyzed?

During an advertising class, I had the opportunity to analyze footwear brand, New Balance’s campaign titled “Grey Days”.

The integrated print and digital campaign celebrated the brand’s heritage while positioning their iconic grey sneakers as a cultural symbol across the world. Showcasing what New Balance means to different communities, from a 90s streetwear symbol in Washington, D.C, to a fashion staple for beachgoers in the South of France.

The campaign effectively bridged cultural relevance and brand symbols, using the color grey as a metaphor for timelessness and versatility. The campaign concluded with a compelling slogan, “Life is not black and white. It’s grey.” This message reinforced the brand’s commitment to inclusivity, making the campaign both emotionally resonate and globally impactful.

How do you stay updated on the latest digital marketing trends?

To stay updated on the latest digital marketing trends, I rely on a mix of media sources and personal observation. Including platforms such as LinkedIn and Ad Age where I’ve learned from thought leaders and journalists who share emerging trends and case studies. I also enjoy seeing real time trends on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, seeing how brands continue to innovate. Some of my favorite major players include Poppi, Ben and Jerry’s and Innocent Drinks who all do a great job of engaging their audiences across social media. This combination of expert knowledge and trendspotting helps me stay informed on the evolving digital media space.
