What's three important aspects you consider when adopting a new social app into your daily screen time?
I consider what sector of my life the social app feeds, how long it takes for me to feel integrated into the product's community, and how easy is it to leave.
Depending on the value of mine that the social app feeds, I tend to spend more or less time on it. For example, recruitment and finding an internship has been important for me, LinkedIn will be a key social app for me that day. However, if I'm looking to socialize then I'll go on Instagram. If I'm feeling bored, I'll go onto TikTok. Each app needs to feed a part of my life that I value. I also consider how long it takes for me to feel like a real user. For LinkedIn, I need to make connections, build my profile, and interact to get the benefits I'm looking for. However, it's worth doing because of my values and also the benefits. For Instagram, it's much faster and up to me to how creative I want to make my profile. For TikTok, there is nearly no integration. I am immediately a member. This thinking needs to be intentional and match the value of the product. Last but not least, the social app should be easy to leave. I should feel comfortable with the exit opportunity presented. Without this, the app may take on a nuance of trapped-ness that makes the app feel obligatory than a choice.

I was bored one day and made a croissant sandwich with artichoke spread on one side, mango salsa, hot sauce, a fried egg, tomatoes, olives, and onions. It was incredible and my family and I ate it for 4 days straight! It was easy to make and so delicious.
