As a young adult, you have your independence. You are working on discovering yourself and learning how to deal with life at the same time. For a lot of you, this is the first real taste of freedom. When you move out, get into college, or start work, you get a thrill of being independent. You will spend your time as you want, spend your money as you want, and make your future as you want. With this freedom also comes responsibility—bills, deadlines, no one else is coming to clean your room, and no one else is coming to balance your budget. This time is also about discovering *who you are.* It is a time for discovering: testing careers, building relationships and experimenting with hobbies and passions. It may seem like you’re reinventing yourself all the time, and that’s okay. When you grow, it is normal to be a little lost, while you try to find your way. It’s hard not to compare yourself to others who seem to have life sorted, and why not! The truth? Most people are just figuring things out along the way. Accepting your own journey is everything. The young adult years can be difficult but they are often fun and provide many good experiences. To trip and learn to learn how to move forward is perfectly normal. This time is not really about having everything sorted; rather, it is about becoming who you are meant to be.
