How do you stay updated on the latest social media trends and adapt them into your content creation strategy?
I stay updated on the latest social media trends by consistently engaging with platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest, and following both influencers and brands that are known for being ahead of the curve. I pay attention to trending audio, visual styles, memes, and even comment section humor—because those small details can make a post more relatable and shareable. When it comes to adapting trends into my content strategy, I focus on making them feel authentic to my voice and community. For example, if a trending sound fits a sorority sisterhood moment, I’ll use it to highlight a behind-the-scenes of our prep for an event, or a candid moment that shows our personality. I’ve found that even when you're following a trend, adding a personal or brand-specific twist is what makes content actually stand out.I also save trending posts to folders by content type—like reels ideas, transitions, or captions—so I can easily reference and adapt them when creating. It helps me stay organized and consistent, while keeping content fresh and fun.

Can you provide an example of a successful social media CONTENT you'VE worked on?
As a member of Alpha Phi, I’ve had the chance to help create and contribute to our chapter’s social media content, especially around recruitment and philanthropy events. One example I’m really proud of was a "Day in the Life" Instagram Story series we launched during fall recruitment. Each day, a different sister took over the account to show her routine, favorite campus spots, and what Alpha Phi means to her.It was super successful—engagement went up, we received messages from PNMs (potential new members) saying it helped them feel more comfortable and excited about recruitment, and it authentically showcased the personalities that make our chapter unique. I helped coordinate the schedule, design the story highlights, and coached sisters on how to make their content feel natural but cohesive with our branding. It showed me how powerful relatable, personal content can be—especially when it’s visually engaging and true to your community. I’d bring that same creativity and attention to detail to promoting Odele on campus and online!
