My favorite song aside from Arctic Monkeys is one by Hozier, named "Work Song". It's an absolutely amazing and super sweet song about loving someone that it makes you capable of so much. In the song Hozier explains that even after death, no grave could keep him from going back to the one he loves. He explains the hardships of the boy in this song, that despite those hardships, the girl still cares and they both love each other a lot. This song has stunning beats too, it's soft and it's sweet in all the right ways. It makes me feel loved everytime I listen to it, when Hozier finally gets to the chorus it's like I'm lifted up into the air with how soft and meaningful the lyrics he sings are. He sings, " When my time comes around, lay me gently in the cold dark earth, no grave can hold me down, I'll crawl home to her", this empowering explanation of such devoted love is amazing to me. It's how I feel, love is a powerful source that I will always appreciate and cherish. Love makes people do crazy things, but it also pushes people to be the best they can be and to always be there. Love makes people forget how bad life can be. Thats what I strive to do, and this song perfectly gets that feeling. To love someone so much that it brings them back to life, because their love gives life meaning. This song makes me remember the people I fight for, my friends, my family. It reminds me that life is worth it because of them, and most importantly, because of me. Self love is the most important and powering source too. It's incredible how amazing this song is, and how comforting it is to me. Whenever I feel down or just need a reminder that everything is worth it, I listen to this.
