How would you plan a wellness event?

To plan a wellness event, I would start by choosing a theme that connects with students’ needs—whether that’s stress relief, hydration, fitness, or healthy snacking. Then I’d secure an accessible, high-traffic location on campus and plan interactive elements like product samples, mini workouts, or wellness challenges to keep people engaged. I’d promote the event through social media, flyers, and partnering with campus orgs like the run club or Black Student Union to boost turnout. During the event, I’d focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere with music, friendly staff, and clear education about the products. Afterwards, I’d gather feedback and track engagement so the next event can be even better.

Share a little about your interest in fitness on campus.

I’m really passionate about staying active on campus because fitness plays a huge role in both my health and daily routine. Living with sickle cell, movement, hydration, and keeping my energy balanced are especially important, so I make fitness a priority. I love the way working out builds community, helps me manage stress, and keeps me feeling strong and motivated. I also help run the social media for a campus run club, which lets me stay connected to other students who value movement while using my creativity to highlight events, workouts, and milestones. Staying involved in campus fitness spaces allows me to meet new people, encourage others, and keep pushing myself.
