Interview Questions
Smart Mouth PR
Content Creator Internship

This role includes brainstorming ideas, appearing on camera, filming content, and working closely with a team. Which areas do you feel strongest in, and where are you hoping to gain more experience this summer?
I feel strongest in trend research, content planning, and post-production. I’m really good at identifying what’s trending, breaking down product or brand information, and turning that into structured content ideas or campaign directions. I’m also very comfortable filming content, collaborating with a team, and taking feedback to refine ideas.
On the back end, I naturally gravitate toward editing and writing captions/copy, so I tend to support content through shaping the final product and making sure it feels polished and intentional.
This summer, I’m hoping to grow more in on-camera presence. I’m comfortable being on camera when needed, but it’s not usually the first thing I volunteer for. I’d like to push myself to be more confident and natural in front of the lens so I can better understand that side of the content process and become a more well-rounded creator.

Social media moves quickly and trends change fast. How do you stay tapped into what’s happening online, and how do you decide what’s worth acting on versus what’s already overdone?
I stay tapped into what’s happening online by consistently following a mix of brands, creators, and organizations not just because I like their content, but because it helps me understand how different audiences respond to different styles and trends.
When it comes to deciding what’s worth acting on, I think it really comes down to context. Not every trend fits every brand or product, so it’s about being realistic and intentional. I pay attention to whether a trend actually aligns with the brand’s tone, audience, and goals, rather than jumping on something just because it’s popular.
For me, it’s less about chasing every trend and more about understanding why something is working, who it’s working for, and whether it can be adapted in a way that feels authentic to the brand.

Tell us about yourself and why this role at Smart Mouth PR interested you. What about content creation or social media feels exciting to you right now?
I’m a Public Relations and Marketing student at Cal State Fullerton with experience in social media, content creation, and campus-based communications. I served on the Digital Communications Committee for CSUF PRSSA and have contributed to the @PRNext2026 media team, helping create promotional videos and content for the conference. I also manage social media for CSUF Climbing Club, where I focus on engagement, storytelling, and community-driven content.
This role at Smart Mouth PR stood out to me because I’m really interested in the blend of creative content and real-world brand activations. I’m especially drawn to how PR today relies on fast, culture-driven storytelling and content that feels natural and relatable. What I like most about social media is that there’s always an element of unpredictability, you never fully know what will go viral. I enjoy that balance of creativity and strategy. I have a strong eye for aesthetics, and I like using analytics and engagement patterns to understand what’s working and anticipate emerging trends.
