Walk me through an automated email or DM flow you have built from scratch. What platform did you use and what did it trigger off of?
One flow I built was an abandoned cart sequence using Klaviyo. It triggered when someone added a product to their cart but didn’t check out within about an hour. First email went out pretty quickly. It was just a simple reminder with the product and a clean “complete your order”. If they still didn’t buy, the second email hit around 24 hours later with a little urgency (low stock, popular item). The last one went out around 48–72 hours later with a small discount to push the conversion. I also layered in basic segmentation such as excluding people who already purchased or targeting repeat customers differently. It worked well because it didn’t feel spammy, just like a few well timed nudges instead of constant emails.

Which tools do you prefer for automating email campaigns and why?
I usually lean towards tools that are easy to set up but still powerful one you get into them such as Klaviyo. It plugs directly into your shopify store, so you can build flows based on real behavior such as abandoned carts and repeat purchases.

How would you use AI to improve a Shopify customer journey?
I'd use AI to make the shopping experience feel more personal and less generic. For example, it could reccomend products based on what someone's actually browsing or has bought, instead of showing what's trending at the moment or the same "best sellers" to everyone. You can also use it to power a smart chatbot tht answers questions instantly, helps people find the right product, or handles basic support without making customers wait.
