I just threw together a pasta salad that I thought was going to be mediocre, but it has turned out to be one of my favorite meals. I started with orzo and then added cucumber, pepper, tomatoes, vegan feta, and then vegan basil pesto to top it off.

Describe your food and beverage choices during the holiday season (including brands - if relevant).
Since I am vegetarian (and sometimes vegan), the holiday season proves to be hard sometimes, as none of my family recipes are fully plant based. The past few years I have started making the dishes with meat substitutes (like Beyond Meat) and it has been a great switch. I can barely taste the difference. I usually stick to water or a light beer during the holidays, as to keep some room for food!

What are the tools and / or advice that you learned as a teen that has supported you in your success?
Always just try. Even if I did not think that an opportunity would be given to me, I would always just apply, or put myself out there, and it has gotten me far more opportunities and connections than if I hadn't. It also shows employers and higher-ups that you take initiative and are interested in their work.
