What campus events would you use to promote a social app like Yope?
I’d use campus events where students are already relaxed, social, and sharing moments! For example, I’d focus on things like welcome week events, club fairs, sports games, tailgates, campus festivals, and pop-up food truck nights, since those are moments where people are already taking photos and hanging out with friends. I’d also tap into smaller, everyday environments like libraries during study sessions, gym areas, student lounges, and common hangout spots, because that’s where the “daily life” content happens! Telling them they can share quick moments in group chats and inside jokes. At bigger events, I’d set up something interactive (if approved) where students can instantly try Yope by creating a shared collage with their friends on the spot, so they see how it works in real time instead of just hearing about it. The goal would be to meet students where they already are, show how it fits naturally into their friendships, and let the experience itself make people want to download it!

How would you convince fellow students to try Yope?
I would convince fellow students to try Yope by making it feel like something they already naturally do, just in a more fun and private way. Instead of pitching it like an app, I’d show it in real life situations! Like sending daily moments with friends, inside jokes, or quick updates throughout the day! This way, their friends can see how it fits into their normal routine. What makes it stand out is that there are no paid advertisements and no stranger DMs, so it feels safe, intentional, and actually private, which is something a lot of students care about. I’d tell them the app creates collages of shared moments, and only your friends can respond to the images, so it feels more personal and controlled compared to regular social media. Also, telling them I personally like that the collages can show up on your lock screen, which makes it feel more connected to your real daily life instead of something you have to open and check. I’d probably introduce it to them through casual conversations and demonstrations, like showing friends and students at my college how I use it with my own circle and letting them experience it firsthand instead of just explaining it. Most people are more likely to try something when they see it being used in a real, relatable way. I’d also focus on word of mouth, because students trust what their friends are using. If a few people in a group start using it, it naturally spreads through friend groups. I’d keep it simple, social, and authentic, and just show that it’s an easy way to stay connected without overthinking it or feeling like another public social media platform!
