You don't like the product, how do you proceed with this gig? Who do you notify and what steps do you take?
I would proceed as normal. I would write a review that thoroughly explained my opinion on the product and I would also include both pros and cons. I would then discuss with the company and if they were interested provide feedback on what I think they could improve.

What are important considerations for you when reviewing a product?
There are a lot of factors to consider when reviewing a product. A few examples would be durability, usability, value for money, quality, and potentially customer service. It is also important to give both pros and cons to show that you considered everything when completing the review.
