What’s your approach to improving content based on feedback or analytics?
With my economics background, I naturally look at patterns such as watch time, retention, and where viewers drop off. This helps me understand what’s driving engagement and what might need adjustment. From there, I make small changes in things like hooks and storytelling. This helps me continuously optimize content while still keeping it authentic to my style.

When you get a creative brief, how do you make it feel authentic?
I try to approach it from the viewer’s perspective first. I ask myself what would actually feel authentic to me as someone scrolling versus what would immediately come across as a business ploy or overly scripted ad. That helps me shape the content in a way that feels natural and engaging rather than forced.

What’s your process for coming up with hooks that stop people from scrolling?
My process is slightly unconventional. Many book readers grew up engaging with online storytelling through platforms like Wattpad and AO3, so I like to lean into that nostalgia. I’d create hooks that recreate the feeling of staying up late ten years ago reading a dramatic One Direction fanfic, something intriguing and emotionally engaging enough to make someone stop scrolling. The goal is to capture the same addictive storytelling style we now see in vertical content, where viewers keep watching even when they didn’t plan to. By tapping into that familiar storytelling rhythm and emotional curiosity, the hook immediately pulls viewers in and makes them want to see what happens next.
