Home From College
Full Time Role: Customer Success Coordinator

Why are you passionate about Home From College and why should we hire you?
As a recent college graduate that is attempting to undergo a career change only a few years out of college, I really appreciate the mission that HFC is undertaking. While my story is similar to a lot of college students that graduated during or close to the pandemic in 2020/21, I believe I have a very objective and optimistic outlook on what the future job market holds for me and my peers.
While in college at UNC-Chapel Hill, I was fortunate to have a part-time job (student football manager) and internships that closely aligned with the professional goals I had for myself; however, in 2019 (my junior year), I came to the realization that a career in sports was no longer my dream.
Fortunately, during the fall semester of my junior year (2019), I had signed up for an entrepreneurship class at the advice of a friend in order to add some business skills to my toolkit. I ended up loving the introductory class, and was accepted into the minor. When COVID struck in the spring of 2020, I was scrambling to find an internship and was grateful to have one set up through the Entrepreneurship program. I loved the company I worked for that summer, and while the company didn’t continue operation following the pandemic, I know how valuable that experience was for me, as it gave me first real taste in the real world.
I believe a role with HFC would benefit both parties equally because I’m a staunch believer in taking on new opportunities that are uncomfortable, because even if that experience doesn’t end up being what you want it to be, every experience does impart some form of wisdom upon those who undertake them. I can say, without a doubt, that the opportunities presented to me through my college and early working career have shaped me into the person I am today, and would cherish the opportunity to encourage others to have the same mindset.
