While the techniques I use to make an engaging video vary depending on the type of video to be made, I always consistently use frequent visual changes such as changes in angles and shots. Fast-paced videos that condense information are what holds viewer attention and therefore make videos much easier to engage with.

Fast paced video editing styles that rely on jump-cuts, zooms and fast visual changes all to maintain viewere attention is highly overused. However, there is a reason this sort of editing style is prominent in most short-form content. After all, it is incredibly effective and continues to still be effective in maintaining viewer attention. So despite the fact that it is highly overused and found in almost every successful short-form video, it is overused for a good reason.
