What do you consider when purchasing from a new brand?

When purchasing from a new brand, I consider many factors. The price must be reasonably place and not a "luxurious pricing" scheme. The product must also have a good return policy or warranty, something that can assure that I did not waste money and that I can gain compensation for a malfunction or mishap. One more thing I would consider is its design and color. The design means a lot to a brand and it is truly important that it has designs that stand out to me and other customers alike.

Financially Literate Individuals and its Importance Financial literacy is truly important to our society today. As a teenager or a young adult, it is important to read and understand what being financially literate truly means. The definition for financial literacy is generally defined as being able to avoid debt, spending money cautiously and wisely, and utilizing that money to provide a better quality of life for themselves and their offspring. When becoming an adult, it’s very important to have a general grasp on this concept because if not it could lead to a life of sorrow. Many colleges and universities teach such things like English, Math, and Social Studies… but where are the curricular financial courses? These should be the building blocks provided by the schools to help teens and young adults with a better understanding of money, but alas these courses are categorized for specific majors or electives. Without this basic financial knowledge within the young adults’ lives, the consequences could lead to a life of paycheck to paycheck poverty. Young adults yearn for freedom due to the bombardment of hard classes, student debt, conflicting relationships, and also managing an at home or on campus life. Who is to blame them? The stress of college usually turns young adults towards the life of short term fun. An early statistic from The Pew Research Center proclaims that “The rise of poor and minority undergraduates has been most pronounced in public two-year colleges and the least selective four-year colleges and universities, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of National Center for Education Statistics”( A Rising Share of Undergraduates Are From Poor Families, Especially at Less Selective Colleges). Such activities like drinking, smoking and living life to the fullest may sound nice on the paper at first, but when put into practice there are financial effects that may lead them to be broke after that hangover or that party they want to last night. That debt is something that can be easily avoided, but it seems like in a way, this splurge of resources provides a sense of stress relief for these unguided young adults. While this can be said for their happiness, the high of their splurge runs out and then what? Now it’s back to living paycheck to paycheck for next week or many weeks to come. Now what if this idea could be turned onto its head?
