I stay up to date with TikTok and Instagram trends by actively using the platforms every day and treating them less like social media and more like a research tool. I spend time on the “For You” and Reels feeds to see what sounds, formats, and video styles are repeating and getting high engagement.I also pay attention to how creators are structuring content—not just what’s trending, but why it’s working (like hooks, pacing, or storytelling style). I’ll save trending videos and sounds, then think about how they could be adapted for different brands in a way that still feels natural.
