What's one thing about Formula Fig that made you want to apply? Be specific.
My interest in applying to Formula Fig stems from the combination of my marketing experience and my passion for the beauty industry. As the VP of Digital Communications for UMD's American Marketing Association, I've managed weekly newsletters, organized and executed organization campaign initiatives, and developed engagement ideas for our digital touch points- responsibilities that closely align with this role. I'm excited about the opportunity to grow within the digital marketing space while helping inspire innovation, confidence, and meaningful experiences through Formula Fig.

Describe how you manage your time when juggling multiple deadlines. Give a specific example
As someone who prioritizes organization, accountability, and proactive planning, I make it a point to map out my various personal, academic, and professional commitments in a structured way to visual and stay ahead of my schedule. I primarily use a time-sorted spreadsheet where tasks are strategically listed to help me visualize my workload, schedule my responsibilities, and break down tasks in manageable steps.
For example, as a student serving on the e-board of UMD AMA, I tackle the diverse responsibilities of both roles- including assignments, website and blog management, newsletter creation, etc.- by staying organized and proactive. I utilize a detailed spreadsheet and consistent routine that allows me to allocate dedicated time for both. For larger tasks, I break them down into smaller, daily goals to ensure progress.

Tell us about a time you taught yourself a new tool or skill without being asked. What was it, and how did you approach learning it?
A time I taught myself a new skill without being asked was when I practiced outreach during my summer internship at Just Ice Tea where I learned to be ambitious and conduct effective outreach. While I did engage in some some "seeding" efforts at local businesses, I took the initiative to go beyond my assigned tasks by teaching myself how to conduct online outreach to local organizations and by practicing organic, in-person outreach. Through this, I developed greater confidence, learned how to engage people effectively, and strengthened my ability to take initiative.
