Back in November, I helped organize an event for the Business Connections Learning Community at University of Connecticut where I’m the marketing specialist. The event was for first year students to hear from guest speakers to help with a variety of professional development skills. I was primarily responsible for setting up the event in Eventbrite, tracking registered students, and creating the visual marketing materials. In addition to the first year students gaining access to helpful information from industry professionals, my boss who has been overworked for the last year due to major budget restrictions was able to take a few days off for necessary R&R because of my contributions!
