Operations Intern (21+ years or older)

Walk us through a time when you built or managed a complex spreadsheet system to track operational or financial data.
During my internship at Injeanius, a boutique in Boston, I was tasked with helping plan the Winter 2025 buy. To do this effectively, I built a detailed spreadsheet system to track vendor orders, delivery timelines, pricing, and style/color breakdowns. The goal was to align our inventory with forecasted trends and avoid overbuying. I created multiple interconnected tabs—one for each vendor—that automatically rolled up into a master sheet with total spend, delivery windows, and category summaries. I used formulas like VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and conditional formatting to catch duplicates, highlight out-of-budget items, and ensure accuracy. This system not only helped our team stay organized during market appointments but also gave the owner a real-time view of our buying plan versus budget. It became the primary tool we used for both trend analysis and final purchasing decisions. The owner even continued using the template for future buys.
