Share a time you had to think creatively to solve a problem?

During my communications strategy class this semester, I was a consultant for the Omni Interlocken Hotel in Broomfield, Colorado. Omni came to us with a current situation that they were dealing with. The Omni Interlocken has been looking to increase revenue during their off-season (November-March) due to their location. They are located too far from ski slopes, and not close enough to downtown Denver to gain enough customer traction in the late fall and winter. I employed my creative strategy skills and came up with an idea and worked with my group to present a solution. The solution I created is for Omni to advertise to NCAA PAC 12 teams visiting CU Boulder. The solution included a detailed presentation on how Omni can utilize a three tiered approach to connect college athletes with Colorado. Tier one was outreach to colleges, tier two was creating a sports tab on their website, and tier three was a shuttle bus partnership. By using social media to connect with teams Omni can gain connections to teams that do not have relationships with hotels here in Boulder. The main point of my teams ideas was by building the sports page and fitting this into the Omni branding on their site, it will display package deals that include the use of all amenities including (the spa, golf course grounds, outdoor and indoor meeting spaces) as well as dining plans. Omni does not provide shuttle busses, so we took the initiative to contact a shuttle company that expressed interest in working with Omni if they integrated our solution of working to host NCAA PAC 12 sports teams when visiting.

I possess relevant experience in both the healthcare and sales industries. In my senior year of high school, I interned at an orthodontist office, where I gained valuable insights into patient care, and organization inside and outside of the office. Additionally, I virtually participated in a dental internship program through London during the Covid-19 Pandemic. I also had the privilege of being a student in the Lenox Hill Hospital BRAINtern program where I shadowed world-renowned surgeons. I have one year of experience as a Dormify sales ambassador. I am currently taking business and communication courses at the University of Colorado Leeds Business School to further enhance my skillset. Overall, I am confident in my ability to effectively communicate to potential customers, while also addressing their concerns and needs.
