One successful TikTok campaign I contributed to was during my time managing social media for USC Keck Medicine’s Brain Tumor Center. While the topic was more serious in nature, the goal was to increase awareness during Brain Tumor Awareness Month through engaging, accessible content. We created a series of short, informative videos featuring facts, behind-the-scenes peeks at our clinical team, and powerful patient testimonials. What made the campaign successful was our focus on storytelling and authenticity - we avoided overly polished content and instead leaned into real voices and raw moments that resonated emotionally. We also leveraged trending audio in subtle, respectful ways to stay relevant and boost reach. By optimizing posting times, engaging consistently in the comments, and collaborating with related advocacy pages, we saw a significant spike in engagement and follower growth, and the campaign even helped increase participation in our virtual awareness events.
