These roles require multiple 2-hour shifts each week and sometimes early mornings or weekends. Are you comfortable with that schedule, and how would you manage your time to stay consistent?

Yes, I’m comfortable with that schedule. I manage my time by planning my week in advance, setting priorities, and keeping a consistent routine. I also use reminders and a calendar to make sure I stay on top of shifts, school, and other responsibilities, so I can be reliable and consistent.

Can you describe a situation where you successfully increased customer engagement and loyalty?

As a retail manager at Rodd & Gunn, I focused on connecting with customers personally. I got to know their style and recommending items that fit. I’d follow up with tips or suggestions, which made shopping feel more personal and kept customers coming back. It really helped build loyalty and repeat visits.

Tell me about a time you had to approach and engage with strangers—how did you break the ice and keep the interaction positive?

I attended the most recent NSBE convention by myself and knew no one there. I broke ice with light humor or relatable comments, like joking about a busy line to ease tension. I followed up with a smile and questions about their role, and kept the conversation positive by listening actively and finding common ground. I found this helps build genuine connections.
