Interview Questions
Robyn AI
Data Analyst Intern

What excites you about this internship at Robyn AI?
As a 22 year old living in the Bay Area, I have seen firsthand that many of my peers turn to LLMs such as Chat-GPT for life advice and mental health counseling. At times, I definitely worry that the Generative A.I. they turn to during stressful times is not well suited for this purpose, as most algorithms are trained to respond to users' prompts from a viewpoint of rationality, when many people actually need to work through their thoughts from a perspective of emotional wellbeing. For this reason, I value that Robyn AI is building a world where anyone can have access to an emotionally-attuned conversation partner from the convenience of their smartphone.
I am highly qualified to work as a Data Analyst Intern, having recently graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Data Science & Social Systems. I have 1 year of experience building pipelines for data analytics and performing meta-regression studies in a biomedical data science lab at the Stanford School of Medicine. Through my education and my research experience, I have learned how to use statistics for data analytics across a wide variety of fields, ranging from bioinformatics to education research and global health trends. I am currently looking for flexible part-time work, and this internship with Robyn AI is a perfect match for me; I hope that at Robyn AI I can continue to apply data analytics to promote a cause that I am passionate about.

What are 2 consumer apps you love and why do you think they’ve gone viral or built strong user habits?
I love BeReal; the app encourages consistent user engagement through daily nudges and by requiring users to post before viewing their daily feed, incentivizing users to "be real" by posting casual pictures once per day.
I am also a big fan of Spotify, which has a viral moment every year when they release their end-of-year Spotify Wrapped coverage, which is an AI-enhanced summary of a user's listening trends, in a creative and aesthetically-pleasing format. When Spotify became the first large streaming platform to offer personalized analytics in this format, it incentivized users to switch from competing apps to their platform to gain access to the trendy end-of-year personalized playlists.
