Can you share a previous experience where you provided exceptional customer service in a high-traffic event setting?

During my time as a PR Coordinator for UMES Admissions, I had the opportunity to assist with our Fall Open House—one of our busiest recruitment events, drawing hundreds of prospective students and their families. Despite the high volume of guests, I remained proactive and solution-oriented. One moment that stood out was when a large tour group became confused about where to go for their breakout session. Instead of simply pointing them in the right direction, I personally walked them to the building, provided a quick overview of what they’d see there, and coordinated with a student ambassador to ensure a smooth handoff. I also stayed in close contact with our social media team and event staff throughout the day to share real-time updates, troubleshoot logistics, and answer questions from guests both in person and online. My goal was to make everyone feel welcomed, informed, and excited about UMES—and based on the feedback we received, it made a difference.
