How do you analyze what’s working?

As a content creator for University College London and my personal informational tiktok page @thecollegehub, I have gained experience in analysing what's working. I usually do this by looking at both the engagement metrics and audience behaviour. I pay close attention to retention and watch time because that shows whether the hook and storytelling kept people interested. I also look at the likes, saves, shares as those signal whether the content was useful or relatable. Beyond the numbers, I try to identify patterns across posts, for example, which hooks and edits gathered the most attention. I also pay attention to the current trends and cultural moments on social media and think about how to connect to what people are already talking about or experiencing at that time. When I notice something working, I iterate by testing variations of the idea and refining the format or messaging.

What pain points do you think would convert best right now?

I think the best ones to convert right now are stress, overthinking and negative self-talk, especially among students and young adults. A lot of people are aware journaling would help with their mental health, however the barrier is usually consistency or not knowing what to write. Another pain point is feeling overwhelmed by thoughts such as late night overthinking and not knowing how to process these thoughts. Content that shows SELFTALK as a simple, guided and accessible space that helps people organise their thoughts, challenge negative thinking and reset emotionally in just a few minutes could resonate strongly. I think positioning it as a quick "mental reset" tool for moments in a bad day, before bed, or feeling stuck when overthinking or during moments of being overwhelmed would feel very relatable and motivating for people to try.
