As someone who wears minimum 24 pieces everyday.. I would have to say that my favorite pieces are two bracelets which I never take off. One is a silver star chain vintage Tiffany bracelet my mom was gifted by her parents when she graduated high school and the other is a gold vermeil chain which my dad got me for my 20th birthday from the brand Cuffed by Nano. I love pieces that are unique, timeless and have personal meanings and reminders to me but look pretty to everyone else!

Glossier has done a really great job in curating their social media presence to align their products to an aesthetic reflective of the brand and the consumer. In online culture today we see an upward trend of people categorizing themselves based on their desired/practiced aesthetic or lifestyle and I believe glossier uses this human inclination to grouping and belonging to their advantage. Glossier has personified themselves and reached beyond their product to create a lifestyle/aesthetic/persona that is clearly seen through their social media content. What makes glossier so effective in achieving this is their use of user generated content which is carefully woven into their branding and product marketing. By using user generated content, they’re able to bring a sense of validity to the image they’re working to create very authentically. In this way glossier has also surpassed many of their competitors as being a stand alone brand with a very clear and consistent image specifically by using their socials to showcase not only their products, but also the “glossier girl”.

Art fuels every aspect of my life. As someone who has recently graduated and has a lot of free time, I have been able to really re-focus on creative outlets in my life and prioritize my own art and absorbing others. In my day to day life art provides me with a sense purpose and self identification. Art and creative media also allow me to take a step back from harsh realities and stress of feeling completely surrounded by the capitalist corporate world and absorb media which brings me a sense of inspiration and creativity in my own life.
