Sales Intern for High Quality Merch Brand

Tell us about your experience in sales, and why you want to work for our brand to help us grow!
I have a strong background in sales, marketing, and client relationship management through my experience with Yardi Systems, Ulta Beauty, The Black Sheep, and Raleigh Girls Club. As a Sales Intern at Yardi Systems, I learned how to engage with prospective clients, understand their needs, follow up effectively, and help move opportunities through the sales process. My retail sales experience at Ulta Beauty further strengthened my ability to build rapport, recommend products, and create positive customer experiences that drove sales. Across all of my roles, I've developed strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset. I'm excited about the opportunity to work with your brand because I enjoy helping organizations find products they're genuinely excited about. Having been involved in campus organizations and worked closely with college communities, I understand how important custom merchandise is for building identity, increasing engagement, and creating memorable experiences. I would love to combine my sales experience, relationship-building skills, and understanding of campus culture to help grow the brand, provide excellent service to clients, and contribute to Couture's continued success.

Describe a time you successfully followed up to close a sale.
During my internship at Yardi Systems, I worked with prospective clients who were interested in learning more about our software solutions. One instance that stands out was when I connected with a prospect who was interested in our platform but hesitant to move forward because they were comparing multiple vendors and unsure about the cost-benefit value. After our initial conversation, I made it a priority to follow up consistently and provide additional information tailored to their needs. I answered their questions, shared relevant product resources, and highlighted how our solutions could address their specific challenges. Rather than using a one-time sales pitch, I focused on building a relationship and staying engaged throughout their decision-making process. Through proactive follow-up and clear communication, I was able to keep the conversation moving forward and help guide the client toward a purchase decision. The experience taught me the importance of persistence, listening to client concerns, and providing value at every touchpoint to successfully close a sale.

How would you convince a client to choose our merch brand over competitors?
I would convince a client to choose Couture by highlighting the combination of high-quality products, personalized designs, and exceptional customer service. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all merchandise, Couture works closely with each organization to create custom apparel that reflects its unique identity and values. I would also emphasize the seamless ordering experience. From the initial consultation to design revisions, pricing discussions, and final delivery, clients have a dedicated point of contact to ensure everything runs smoothly. As someone with experience in sales, marketing, and relationship-building, I understand the importance of clear communication and follow-up, and I would make sure every client feels supported throughout the process. Ultimately, I would position Couture as more than a merch provider—it's a partner that helps organizations create apparel their members are proud to wear while delivering a stress-free, reliable experience.
