Have you ever sold something online or in person? Share an example, big or small. Talk about what you learned from that selling experience

I am an avid second hand purchaser and seller, and my favorite platforms are Facebook Marketplace and Depop. My success in selling clothes, accessories, furniture, decor, and trinkets has taught me that the most important thing is quick, attentive, and consistent communication and honesty. When someone inquires about my product, asking a question or expressing interest, I am quick to respond and try to explain exactly what the product is I’m selling, what I used it for, and why I’m getting rid of it. I find that being honest and saying, this piece just isn’t as flattering to me as it used to be or I’ve worn it too much and want something new always produces better results than if I fib and try to make the product seem more appealing than it is. Along with good communication, I’ve learned the importance of catering to my customers needs as promptly as possible to capitalize on their interest. On Depop, if they ask for my pictures of an item in different lightening, angles, etc., I am quick to get those uploaded. On Facebook marketplace, if they ask for specific dimensions or descriptions of color or texture, I again act fast to maintain their interest. Overall, selling experience, though only secondhand, has given me valuable lessons on product sales. Matter the condition, good communication, honesty, and promptness contribute to greater success.

What's your video creation process? How do you usually get your inspirations?

I do a mix of finding inspiration on the medium I’m posting on, meaning I’m consuming content about the latest trends and audios and just scrolling and engaging with videos I genuinely enjoy, and finding inspiration in my environment. I’m a huge outdoors person and love to spend time in nature, so when I take my walks I’m constantly finding things that inspire me outside and think about how I can connect them back to what I’m creating. Another big influencer on my video creating process is my friends. Both of my roommates work in social media, running multiple brand accounts, so I get updates and feedback from them which is super helpful. They can help bounce ideas, share inspiration, or quickly tweak my content to make it better. So, the process usually looks like feeling inspired, saving the sound/video or taking a picture, and then writing it down in my notes app list of ideas and then trying to spin it for whatever content I need to push. Sometimes my ideas I’m not 100% on will sit in my drafts until I think about how to make them just one step better.

Tell me about a piece of content you made that got more engagement than usual. What do you think made it successful?

I posted 60 TikToks in 30 days for a company and my very last post got 200x as many views as I usually got. I had a suspicion it was going to be successful because I had been engaging a ton on the account and capitalized on a trend that had just started getting traction, but I hadn’t anticipated the amount of views that I ended up getting. I think what made the content successful was my creativity, quick utilization of a trend, and consistent posting and external engagement.
