Can you share your experience in engaging with consumers in a retail environment?
Yes! One of the biggest things I’ve learned from both personal experience and leadership roles is how important it is to understand what customers really want—whether you're behind a counter or just having a one-on-one conversation. For example, I run my own spray tan business, where every interaction is like a mini retail moment. I’ve had to listen closely to what clients were looking for, help them choose the right product or shade, and make sure they felt confident in the service. A big part of that was reading people, offering recommendations, and creating a positive experience so they’d come back or tell a friend. Also, this past year, I interned for Catch, a tech platform that connects shoppers with cashback and rewards when they check out online. While it wasn’t traditional retail, my role focused a lot on understanding the consumer mindset and what makes people take action—whether it’s trying a new payment option, signing up for a reward, or coming back to a brand they trust. I helped brainstorm and refine outreach strategies, reviewed user feedback, and even worked on ways to improve how Catch was presented to customers at checkout. This gave me insight into how small tweaks in language, visuals, or timing can really affect how a customer engages with a product.

How would you approach promoting CoAqua to your friends and community?
I’d start by sharing my personal story, because I think people connect best through genuine experiences. My mom has always hated drinking plain water—she just never liked the taste—so staying hydrated was a real challenge for her. But recently, she’s started to enjoy coconut water as a natural, refreshing alternative, and CoAqua is exactly the kind of product she now looks for. My grandpa is the same way—he’s always searching for better ways to stay hydrated, especially ones that taste good and offer natural benefits. So when it comes to promoting CoAqua, I’d focus on people like them: everyday consumers who may not love water but want something healthier than sugary drinks. I’d introduce it to my friends and community by offering samples at local events, organizing taste tests, or just bringing it along to social gatherings. I'd also use social media to highlight the lifestyle side of it—how CoAqua can fit into daily routines, workouts, or even just relaxing at home. Sharing how it’s helped my own family stay hydrated would make the message more real and relatable.
