Although not a TikTok video, I created an Instagram reel for my business fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon, at UC Berkeley. We went through multiple themes and music, specifically targeting college students by utilizing trending visuals on Instagram at that time. We focused on lifestyle and unique college experiences, which are attractive topics for students. It gained over 10k views and increased our account's overall engagement by 500%, marking the most active recruitment season for the fraternity.

Ways to look for TikTok trends are to keep track of popular hashtags and trending sounds. When managing social media marketing for businesses, I also like to examine what competitors are posting and analyze what is working, so we can apply it to our own marketing strategy. Using what has already done as a basis for creating content has proven to be the most effective way in gaining audience attention and engagement.
