When you get a creative brief, how do you make it feel authentic?

  • Ground each brief in human connection. Avoid using stereotypes to define your audience. Instead, define the audience by their aspirations, anxieties, and frustrations.

  • Use simple language that the average consumer will understand perfectly Nothing technical, relate what you are selling to the average human experience.

  • Use Conversational Briefings - Don't just email the brief. Discuss it in person or over video to convey excitement and allow for questions.

What’s your process for coming up with hooks that stop people from scrolling?

You have to decide if you want the hook to be educational or just attention grabbing. For something that highlights book promotion, I would use both kinds of hooks and compare the viewing results post upload.

The first visual of each video had to be appealing enough to the viewer that they stop what their doing to see your content. That means it has to be one or more of these three things: funny, beautiful, or interesting
