During a fundraising campaign for my sorority’s philanthropy (CASA), I noticed our standard 'Please Donate' flyers were getting low engagement. I created a new series of Instagram Stories that visualized exactly what specific dollar amounts achieved—for example, a graphic showing that '$10 buys a backpack' or '$20 buys art supplies for a foster child. I believe this content saw a 40% increase in shares (or engagement) because it utilized tangibility. Donors often hesitate because they don't know where the money goes. By connecting the ask to a concrete outcome, I removed that mental barrier. The graphics were clean and informative, making members feel proud to repost them to their own networks. It taught me that in impact messaging, specificity drives action. People engage more when they can clearly visualize the difference they are making.
