What are the tools and / or advice that you learned as a teen that has supported you in your success?
Finding what I cared about. Not only did that make me more singularly focused on what mattered, and helped me dismiss anything that was tertiary or less important, but it made me realize that when you connect with your life sincerely and approach things honestly, you're less concerned about how people perceive you.
What is your favorite new/ non-traditional social app? Why?
BeReal–– I like that it has parameters. For example, you're timed, you have to take the photo instantly, and you're prompted to do it. I find that can often breed creativity in a way total freedom on an app doesn't, because that often leads to indecision. Something I liked about tiktok when it was just starting up was how few options there were for creators on there–– it's not like you had access to the full adobe suite when producing a tiktok. And that inspired a lot of people to be creative and take advantage of the loop function, of duetting and stitching, etc. Another thing I like about BeReal is that it captures your memories and you can look back on it, like a calendar that shows you a glimpse of what you did everyday. It's like one second a day, but the social aspect of bereal incentivizes you to be active way more than one second a day.
