What would make your peers care about personal finance?

As a junior in college, my peers and I are all on the same struggle bus with personal finance. We are getting closer and closer to entering the real world -- and have no options but to care. Furthermore, being in the Poole College of Management, I luckily already have a pool of people who strongly care about personal finance.

Where would you go to find leads for a credit union on your campus?

I would start by targeting areas and groups where students naturally engage with financial decisions. That could include student organizations, sororities and fraternities, business clubs like Women in Business, and events where students are thinking about budgeting, like career fairs or orientation sessions. I’d also use social media channels and group chats to share helpful content about financial tips, promotions, or credit union services to reach students online, making it easy for them to learn more and sign up.

How would you engage students during a busy campus event?

During a busy campus event, I would engage students by making interactions quick, fun, and visually appealing. I’d use eye-catching visuals, mini demos, or interactive elements like giveaways, polls, or quick challenges to capture attention even in a crowded setting. I’d also leverage my networks in Delta Zeta and Women in Business to help spread the word and create a sense of excitement, making students feel like participating is both fun and valuable.
