What strategies do you use to grow a new social media account quickly?
I’d focus on a mix of consistency, trend awareness, and audience engagement to grow a new account quickly. First, I’d post frequently—ideally once or twice a day at the start—to give the algorithm more chances to push my content. I’d prioritise short-form videos because they tend to reach more people. Second, I’d use strong hooks in the first few seconds so people don’t scroll past, and I’d follow current trends (sounds, formats, challenges) but adapt them to my niche so the content still feels original. I’d also focus on value—either entertainment, useful tips, or local recommendations—so people have a reason to follow rather than just watch once. Engagement is important too, so I’d reply to comments, ask questions in captions, and create content based on what people interact with most. Finally, I’d analyse performance using insights and double down on what works—like certain video styles, topics, or posting times—to grow faster over time.

How would you create engaging hooks for local recommendation videos?
I’d focus on making the first 2–3 seconds impossible to ignore. For local recommendation videos, I’d use hooks that either surprise, challenge expectations, or promise clear value. For example, I might start with a bold statement like: ‘This is the most underrated food spot in [area] and no one talks about it,’ or a question like ‘Would you try this hidden place in [area]?’ I’d also use quick visuals straight away—like the best-looking food, a cool interior, or a unique feature—so people instantly see why it’s worth watching. Another approach is curiosity-driven hooks, like ‘I found a place in [area] that does something completely different…’ so viewers want to stay to find out what it is. Overall, the goal is to make it feel relevant, exciting, and specific to the local audience so they think, ‘I need to check this out.’

What creators or brands do you think have really strong content right now?
I think creators like MrBeast have really strong content right now because of how well they combine storytelling with fast-paced editing and clear structure. His videos are designed to keep attention the whole way through, which is something I find really effective. I also think people like Mark Rober stand out because their editing supports the content instead of overpowering it—it’s clean, well-paced, and makes complex ideas easy to understand. In general, I think the strongest content right now balances short-form and long-form well, using short videos to grab attention and longer videos to deliver more value.
