Share an experience that highlights your ability to build strong relationships.
A specific experience that highlights my ability to build strong relationships occurred when I worked with Everflora, a herbal water startup, during my time as Director of Graphics for the American Marketing Association (AMA). Everflora initially expressed hesitation about collaborating with a student-run organization, as they were considering spending a significant amount of money on an independent artist to design their logos, fonts, and overall brand assets. They were unsure whether we could deliver the professional-quality work that they needed for their new herbal water brand.Rather than backing down, I took the opportunity to demonstrate our team’s capabilities. I began by meeting with the Everflora team to better understand their brand identity, target audience, and long-term goals. I reassured them that our team had the creativity, design skills, and passion needed to build a unique brand presence that would resonate with their health-conscious audience. To show them our commitment, my team and I went beyond just talking about our ideas—we took the initiative to create several mock designs for their logos, packaging, and brand assets. We focused on crafting designs that aligned with Everflora’s vision of promoting wellness and nature, using clean, modern typography and earthy color schemes that reflected their product's organic nature. When we presented the mock designs to Everflora, I carefully explained the creative process behind each element, emphasizing how we tailored our work to reflect the values of health, nature, and mindfulness that the brand stood for. This proactive approach not only demonstrated our skills but also showed that we were invested in their brand’s success.Impressed by the designs and the level of professionalism we demonstrated, Everflora decided to move forward with our team instead of hiring an independent artist. The trust we built led to a successful partnership where we finalized their brand assets, including logo, fonts, and packaging design, helping them establish a strong visual identity for their herbal water brand. This experience taught me the power of persistence, initiative, and proactive communication. By showing Everflora that we could deliver high-quality work and demonstrating our dedication to their success, I was able to build a lasting relationship that went beyond just the project itself.

Share a few of the most impactful traditions as it relates to March Madness on your campus?
At USC, March Madness is a time of heightened excitement, and the campus comes alive with school spirit. One impactful tradition is the game-viewing parties organized at popular spots like the USC Village or at Greek houses, where students come together to cheer on their teams. These events are often filled with Trojan-themed decorations, food, and lively commentary, making them a central part of the March Madness experience on campus.Another tradition involves student organizations hosting brackets competitions, where students fill out brackets and compete for prizes like free meals, campus swag, or gift cards. These competitions foster a sense of camaraderie and friendly rivalry among students.Additionally, USC students often carry the tradition of Trojan pride into March Madness by wearing cardinal and gold gear throughout the tournament, whether they’re watching games on campus or supporting their favorite teams at local sports bars. The Trojan Marching Band also plays a crucial role in rallying school spirit, often performing at events tied to the tournament. These traditions showcase how USC’s vibrant campus culture blends collective excitement, school pride, and a shared love of basketball during March Madness.
