How do you approach creating engaging hooks in videos?
“I usually start by thinking about what would make someone stop scrolling in the first few seconds. For me, it’s either calling out a problem, showing something interesting right away, or saying something that creates curiosity. When I’m making videos for apps or software, I try to simplify the message and get straight to the point—like showing the result first or hinting at a benefit before explaining anything. I also look at what’s currently working on TikTok and adapt those styles, but I make sure it still feels natural and not forced. Then I test different hook variations to see which one keeps people watching longer.”

Have you created content for ad testing campaigns before?
“I’ve started working with smaller brands like Core Care Company, where I created short-form content with an ad-testing approach. I focused on trying different hooks, messaging styles, and formats to see what performs best. Most of the content was designed for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, so I paid close attention to retention and engagement. Through that, I’ve gotten more comfortable creating multiple variations and improving content based on what holds attention.”

Have you been part of a UGC program or brand partnership before? If yes, which brand(s) and how did your content perform? Personal accounts with strong short-form content are also welcome - no prior UGC experience required.
“I haven’t been part of an official UGC program or brand partnership yet. Right now, I’m focused on building my portfolio around short-form content, especially for apps and software. I’ve been consistently creating videos for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, where I focus on strong hooks, pacing, and making content engaging and easy to follow. Even without brand deals yet, I’ve been treating my content like client work—testing different styles, improving retention, and refining what works. I’m confident I can apply that to real campaigns and deliver content that performs.”
