What’s your approach to improving content based on feedback or analytics?
I treat content creation exactly like my work as an Academic Progress Coach: it requires analyzing the data to adjust the strategy. I look past vanity metrics like total views and dive deep into retention graphs and save/share ratios. If retention drops in the first three seconds, I know my text hook failed; if it drops halfway, I need to speed up my clip transitions. I use this feedback loop to continuously A/B test new text formats and trending sounds in my daily video batches.

When you get a creative brief, how do you make it feel authentic?
I translate the marketing goals into a relatable, everyday scenario. Drawing from my background as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student, I focus heavily on the 'vibe' and how the aesthetic makes the viewer feel. I place the book in authentic, 'lived-in' environments—like next to a messy study setup, an iced coffee, or on a nightstand. This ensures the video feels like a genuine, aesthetic recommendation seamlessly blending into a user's For You Page, rather than a rigid commercial.

What’s your process for coming up with hooks that stop people from scrolling?
I rely on a combination of visual pattern interrupts and targeted text overlays. Through running my 'jonathandoesUGC' account, I've learned that for faceless videos, the text is the hook. I start by identifying the viewer's core desire or curiosity and address it in the first two seconds (e.g., 'The book I wish I read before my 20s'). I pair this text with fast-moving, aesthetic B-roll—like quickly flipping pages or setting the book down firmly—to immediately capture visual attention.
