I have this idea to host an event for graduating seniors called “You’re on Your Ouai.” It would be a self-care celebration the week before graduation, a chance for seniors to unwind and relax before the big day. Although I am not a senior, this year's class holds a special place in my heart. I imagine setting it up outdoors on a Friday or indoors with cozy seating areas, soft music, and an atmosphere that encourages mingling and relaxation. There could be a photo booth for fun memories, a selection of refreshing drinks and light bites, and of course, Ouai products and other self-care goodies for everyone to sample. To make it interactive, I would set up stations where students can create their self-care items—like face masks or body scrubs. And to make it even more special, I could partner with local wellness brands from Madison, NJ to run mini wellness workshops or be guest speakers during the event. I’d love to make this event feel personal and meaningful, so I’m thinking of adding a “Gratitude Wall” where students can write advice or uplifting messages to share. That way, no one feels alone since there are so many mixed emotions regarding this time. I also imagine this being a wonderful way to encourage students to have something of their own before entering the next chapter of their lives.

I am a part of the Drew University Action Scholars Program, Marketing Manager for ARIEL (Hispanic/Latinx organization), Staff Writer and Photographer for the Acorn Newspaper, Action Scholar Mentor for first-years, Vice President of Content Creation for The Fund, and finished my term for C.C.O. for the Student Government Organization and Chair of the Communications Committee.
