Why are you passionate about Home From College and why should we hire you?
Home From College's mission statement to kickstart students' careers resonates with my personal passions to support student's professional and academic development. I have a strong history of fostering students' academic progress and launching major communication programs tailored towards the student experience. I believe that working for Home From College will allow me to continue my work to help support the success of the organization. I am extremely organized, strategic, and have an eye for innovation, skills that I am currently using to obtain a professional certificate in project management (expected February 2024). I am highly motivated and eager to leverage both my soft and technical skills within such an innovative and impactful team.

As the Project Lead for McMaster University's Bring Your own Bottle Engagement team (McMaster BYOB), I was tasked with planning, promoting, and executing the inaugural engagement event for the Bring Your Own Bottle initiative. The event was to raise awareness of McMaster BYOB and promote reusable water bottle use on campus. The event successfully garnered an attendance of over 60 students, with over 50 students signing a pledge to reduce their single-plastic use consumption on campus. Furthermore, during the event, we were able to conduct over 20 interviews with students to obtain insights on how to improve our communication strategies. I presented our successes, shortcomings, and results during McMaster's Sustainability Summit, which helped secure further funding for future McMaster BYOB engagement events.

What does nutrition and wellness mean to you?
Nutrition comes in many forms, for me the highest level of nutrition is when I feel most fulfilled health-wise and socially-wise. Health comes from receiving nutritious foods, while social health comes from feeling supported and loved by those around me. Wellness means to achieve a state of happiness and low discontent, whether physically or mentally. To me, nutrition fits within the umbrella of wellness, and it is one way to achieve overall wellness.
