How do you hook viewers in the first 3 seconds of a retail video?

To hook viewers in the first three seconds of a retail video, I focus on starting with a strong, relatable moment that immediately grabs attention. As a student-athlete, that could be something like opening my gym bag after a tough workout or walking down the snack aisle and saying something like, “The best post-practice snack I’ve found.” This creates curiosity and makes viewers want to keep watching. I also like to pair that with quick, visually appealing shots of the product, like opening the package or a close-up of the snack, so people instantly know what the video is about. Combining a relatable hook with movement, clear visuals, and a short statement helps capture attention quickly and encourages viewers to stay engaged.
