How would you approach creating engaging content for a TikTok audience interested in budget-friendly shopping?

I would approach creating content by leading with energy and relatability. I'd start my videos with attention-grabbing hooks like "Don’t you wish you had this?" or "Don’t you love this new couch? I got it for only $___!" That kind of opening immediately invites curiosity and gives value upfront. I’d also use lines like "Save your money with this dupe" to tap into TikTok’s love for affordable alternatives. The goal is to make the viewer feel like they’re getting insider knowledge and stylish finds that don’t break the bank. I’d combine aesthetic visuals, quick transitions, and clear captions to make the content both shareable and trustworthy.More than just selling a product, I’d focus on selling an aesthetic or a feeling. Whether it’s cozy minimalism, chic urban decor, or clean-girl luxury on a budget, people are drawn to a vibe, not just a price tag. That’s what I’d aim to capture with every piece of content.

PLEASE SHARE A TOPIC YOU'RE PASSIONATE ABOUT AND HOW YOU WOULD INCORPORATE IT INTO YOUR CONTENT.

I'm passionate about international relations, which I’m currently studying at the University of Toronto. More specifically, I’m deeply invested in staying informed about developments across Africa and finding ways to keep the diaspora connected to what’s happening back home. I care about how we, as a global community, engage with the continent, not just politically, but also culturally and creatively. I’m also passionate about building spaces that help develop our creative capabilities in the diaspora, whether through media, storytelling, or collaborative platforms that reflect our voices and experiences.
