Can you describe a successful TikTok campaign you were a part of and the strategies that made it successful?
In the middle of 2020, a makeup artist from my town, who is also a family friend, decided to create a TikTok account to expand her work. At that time, she was in her late 30s and primarily used Instagram, so TikTok was a new platform for her. She has amazing skills, but her videos just didn’t look as professional. Since I’m younger, she asked for my honest opinion. I suggested she check out the trending music that week on TikTok and observe makeup artists with larger followings to see what their videos looked like. This would give her a good base for more professional content. She was mainly posting before-and-after videos, so I advised her to film parts of the process to make the videos more engaging to watch. I also told her to include product details in the description and to diversify her content by sharing first impressions of products or filming with different models (e.g., people with acne-prone or mature skin) so viewers could see how makeup looks on various skin types. Now, she receives products from brands and does makeup full-time. I can confidently say that a more polished account leads to more engagement

How would you approach creating engaging content for a TikTok audience interested in budget-friendly shopping?
So, if I were to create budget-friendly shopping content for TikTok, I'd start by grabbing attention right away with a bold question or statement, like 'Luxury looks on a budget? Watch this!' I’d make sure the videos are fast-paced, with quick cuts and smooth transitions.
I would start by comparing the price points of the products, then analyze their similarities and differences. For example, if I were comparing lipsticks, I would check reviews from other content creators and present the pros and cons of both products. In the end, I would ask the audience if they’ve tried any of the products and encourage them to share their experiences in the comments.
