What’s your process for creating short-form videos that perform well?
My process starts with identifying a strong hook within the first 1–2 seconds to capture attention. I then structure the video around a simple, clear idea so the message is easy to follow and relatable. I also look at trending sounds, formats, and topics to make sure the content feels native to platforms like TikTok. When filming, I focus on authenticity and natural reactions so the video feels genuine. During editing, I add captions, pacing cuts, and visual cues that keep viewers engaged. Finally, I test different styles of content and pay attention to what resonates with viewers so I can continuously improve performance and engagement.

What types of videos/Hooks would you try first for Balloon?
For Balloon, I would start with relatable, curiosity-driven hooks that make people feel comfortable talking about gut health. For example: “Things I started tracking that completely changed my gut health…”
“Nobody told me this could be connected to digestion…”
“POV: you start tracking your digestion and suddenly everything makes sense.”
“3 things I wish I knew about bloating sooner.”
These types of hooks work well because they tap into curiosity, normalize conversations about digestion, and feel like personal experiences rather than ads.

Tell us about a video you made that performed well. Why do you think it worked?
One video I made that performed well was a clip of my dad reacting to a trending song that was popular in the military. He’s a veteran, so I filmed his genuine reaction when he heard it. The video did well because it used a trending sound, but it also had an authentic and funny reaction that felt natural rather than scripted. It was also relatable to people who have served in the military or have family and friends who have, which made it more shareable and engaging.
