Although sexual conversations and reproductive rights are a topic most people actively talk about and support in this day and age, there is still some people that prefer a more discreet form of support. I think Hey Jane’s mission to offer support to anyone, anywhere from the comfort of their home is something most health care facilities do not offer. It’s important that people that are looking for help in whatever matters to have somewhere to turn to and not feel judged. Hey Jane is doing an amazing job at giving people that comfort and peace.

On my friends birthday, we decided to play a game that involved asking sexual questions. At first, some people were hesitant to answer and looked a bit uncomfortable. However, as more people began answering questions and letting lose, they got comfortable and eventually had lots of fun answering questions. One person in particular came up to me after the game and told me my reactions to people’s answers made them ease into the game since they realized no one would judge them. Because of this, I would approach a situation where someone is hesitant to take a condom by letting them know it’s completely fine, but if they happen to change their mind, I’ll be around. This way, they won’t feel pressured but will still feel comfortable enough to come up to me again if they change their mind.
